Ogun State Approves Reconstruction of 11 Major Roads, Promises Swift Action on Sango-Ijoko-Akute

The Ogun State Government has approved the reconstruction of 11 strategic roads across the state, reaffirming its commitment to infrastructural development and improved connectivity.


Governor Dapo Abiodun granted the approval during the State Executive Council meeting held over the weekend.


The newly approved road projects, covering key areas to enhance intra-state travel and economic growth, include: Akute Bridge to Agbado Train Terminal (Lateef Jakande Pass/Agbado Bridge) – 9.2km (includes construction of laybys and adjoining roads); Iperu Junction to Ilishan Roundabout (Gateway International Airport Road) – 5.5km; Imasayi-Igan Okoto-Ayetoro Road (Phase 2B) – 4km; Imasayi (End of Phase 1) to Igan Okoto (Phase 2A) – 3km; and Gao Junction to Ibiade Road – 3.8km.


Others are the Abeokuta Obalende-Ijebu Ode Road – 2.75km; Osinubi New Road (Araromi Street), Ijebu Ode – 1.1km; Tam Balogun Road, Ijebu Ode – 0.85km; Federal College Road, Odogbolu – 2.93km; General Hospital – Aferiku Road, Ipokia – 2.8km; and Oke Erinja to Erinja to Ilobi Road (Phase 2) – 1.7km.


In addition to these projects, Governor Abiodun reiterated his commitment to awarding the contract for the reconstruction of the long-neglected Sango-Ijoko-Akute Road within the next week, offering much-needed relief to residents and commuters in the area.


This development marks another milestone in the state’s ongoing efforts to modernise its road network and improve transportation infrastructure.
