Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has been honoured with the Distinguished Award of Excellence in Aviation Sector Reforms at the 2025 edition of the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS), a prestigious national recognition celebrating outstanding public service delivery.

The award was presented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), during an elaborate ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The honour acknowledges Keyamo’s remarkable leadership, strategic reforms, and transformative initiatives that have shaped the aviation industry within a short period.

Under his stewardship, the sector has recorded significant progress, including enhanced regulatory compliance, renewed investor confidence, and improvements in safety, operational standards, and infrastructure development.

According to the organisers, Keyamo’s recognition is a testament to his commitment to efficiency, transparency, and modernization of Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem, aligning with the federal government’s broader vision for sustainable growth across critical sectors.

The NEAPS awards—an initiative designed to celebrate exemplary performance by individuals in public service—highlighted Keyamo’s role as one of the leading reform-driven ministers in President Tinubu’s administration.

Dignitaries, government officials, and industry leaders were present at the event, applauding the minister for his contributions and encouraging continuity in ensuring a globally competitive aviation sector.
