The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, had confirmed the killing of a former Chairman of Andoni Local Government of Rivers State during the election in Ogu.Omoni, who said the story had been confirmed to him by the Police DPO in Ogu, added that the former Chairman whose name he couldn’t immediately give was shot dead along with his brother.Meanwhile, voting materials in Ubima the ward of Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, in Ikwerre Local Government Area were hijacked by hoodlums after the minister voted and left. His wife Judith could not vote because the card reader could not acknowledge her fingerprints. A former governor of the state, Celestine Omehia, spent a long time trying to vote also because the card reader could not accredit him.Leo Okon, Electoral Officer of Okrika Local Government Area, said election could not take place in Wards 6,7,8 and 9 because materials for the wards were hijacked before they could get to the RACs.
