Samuel Oki, the cousin of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s who was abducted alongside the former leader’s uncle and foster father, Inegite Jonathan, was on Friday found dead by fishermen in Otuoke, Bayelsa State.
The decomposing body of the 35-years was found floating on Otuoke river, two days after the abduction. This has kept the villagers apprehensive about the safety of the former president’s 72-year-old uncle, whose whereabouts is still not known.
Meanwhile, the kidnappers have remained unusually silent and have not established any contact with the family of their victims since the abduction.
The Police in the Bayelsa have confirmed their awareness of the unfortunate incident and are making the effort to unmask the perpetrators.
It would be recalled that armed gunmen had on Wednesday kidnapped 72-year-old Inegite Jonathan, but the abduction of Oki was not immediately noticed until several hours later.
