Nigerian music legend Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia is trending nationwide after making candid remarks on the 234Mzansi podcast with Nedu Wazobia, where he described men as “biologically wired” for polygamy and opened up about the fallout with his ex-wife and alleged threats to his life.
In one of the most viral clips, 2Baba stated:
“A man is not built to sexually be with one woman. A man can love one woman, give her his heart, but it’s impossible for a man to sexually be with only one woman. The seed too plenty…”
He went on to claim that men who deny this “biology” set themselves up for marriage breakdowns and heartbreak over infidelity.
But that wasn’t all. The legendary singer confessed:
“I know people wey dey wan make I die,” revealing he’s aware of threats from those close to him.
He also addressed his divorce from Annie Idibia, stating it ended amicably and that he owes explanations only to his children.
The interview took a deeper turn into 2Baba’s history with fellow artist Blackface. While acknowledging past legal and personal conflicts over their famous hit “African Queen,” 2Baba expressed frustration over accusations from Blackface, insisting he didn’t do anything wrong.
The episode quickly captured public attention.
Nedu Wazobia, a prominent on-air personality known for tackling bold topics, added fuel to the buzz by probing on relationships, masculinity, and fame.
Reactions across social media platforms have been fierce and divided. Some social media users feel 2Baba is speaking hard truths and championing honesty, while others accuse him of justifying infidelity or dodging accountability.
Many defended his perspective on natural male instincts, while others argued that emotional fidelity matters as much as biological urges.
As the debate unfolds, one thing is clear: 2Baba’s raw honesty has reignited conversations around Nigerian masculinity, relationships, and personal integrity in the spotlight era.
