The 9th edition of the CEOs’ forum, an annual gathering of Small and Medium-scale Enterprises, SMEs, has been held in Lagos.
The event, which was held at the City Hall, CMS, Lagos, attracted entrepreneurs and managers in the public and private sectors across the country.
Organized by LEAP Africa, a non- profit organization, the forum was attended by notable personalities in the commerce and trade industry including Shola Oworu, Lagos State commissioner for Commerce and Industry; Yemisi Ayeni, Board Chair, LEAP Africa; Iyadunni Olubode, Executive Director, LEAP Africa and Adedoyin Odunfa, CEO, Digital Jewels, among others.
With the theme, “Leveraging Technology for SME Growth,” the forum featured five speakers including Olusegun Martins, Head of Technology, Insight Communications; Uche Onwudiwe, CEO, COURE Technologies; Balvinder Powar, MD, Booster Industries, Spain; Abasiama Idaresit, MD, Wild Fusion and Oscar Emokpai, Chairman, Mindshare Advertising Agency.
Speakers focused their speeches around the roles of technology, online marketing and publicity on the growth of SMEs.
Ayeni, in her opening address, described technology as a critical enabler of business growth.
“We are focusing on technology because Nigeria is opening up to technology at an increasing pace. Technology is a critical enabler of business growth; SMEs who desire growth in their businesses have no choice than to embrace technology,” Ayeni stressed.
