Afrobeats continues to reign supreme across Africa’s digital music landscape, as Grammy-winning superstar Burna Boy emerges as Africa’s most followed artiste on Spotify in 2025, boasting an impressive 14 million followers.

The Nigerian hitmaker, known for global smashes like Last Last and City Boys, leads the continent’s musical heavyweights in a ranking that reflects Africa’s growing influence on the global streaming stage.

Trailing Burna Boy closely is Egyptian legend Amr Diab with 11.57 million followers, followed by fellow Egyptian star Sherine with 9.62 million.

Nigeria’s Afrobeats giants dominate the chart, claiming 13 out of the top 25 spots, with Wizkid (9.37M), Davido (8.95M), Rema (8.59M), Asake (7.22M), and Ayra Starr (5.6M) all featuring prominently.

From North Africa, Egypt continues to hold its own with major names like Tamer Hosny (7.18M), Ahmed Saad (6.35M), and Mohamed Hamaki (5.76M). Meanwhile, Morocco’s ElGrandeToto (4.32M) and Algeria’s Soolking (6.2M) underline the region’s vibrant digital audience.

Southern Africa’s representation comes from Seether (3.82M), DJ Maphorisa (3.55M), and global breakout star Tyla (3.48M), who continues to soar after her Grammy win for Water.
