Less than 48 hours after Twitter, the social medium through which prompt messages are passed to the public, suspended the account of Niger Delta Avengers, NDA the militant group has created another account.
In the new account, the group boasted “Block this, another will spring up now and always”.
The group’s Twitter account was blocked by the social media company on Monday, July 4, 2016, following the complaint that it allowed the NDA to use the medium to promote violence against the Nigerian state.
Twitter had shut down thousands of accounts suspected to be used for the promotion of violent activities last year. One notable Twitter account shut down was that of the Islamic state, IS, which is currently the leading violent campaigner in the world.
But in its new account opened today, the Avengers accused the Nigerian government of compromising Twitter and Google DA ‘to effect the suspension’ of their accounts.
There had been complaints about the silence of the social media company as the avengers used the platform to send what was regarded as hate messages and reports claiming responsibility for violent actions against economic ventures in the Niger Delta region of the country.
