Bayelsa APC guber primaries: aspirants call for cancellation The controversies attending the Bayelsa State Governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress appeared to have run into trouble as some major aspirants called for its outright cancellation Tuesday afternoon.   The aspirants led by Mr. Timi Alaibe, Ebitimi Amgbare and Preye Aganaba, declared that they had lost confidence in the process and want it cancelled.   The aspirants who spoke with reporters at the Samson Siasia Stadium venue of the primaries, noted that the organisers of the primaries had lost control of the event.   Alaibe noted that process that was due to have started at 8am was yet to commence at 2pm, with the Chairman of the congress committee, Adams Oshiomhole, nowhere to be found.   Aganaba said, “Having toiled for the party for a long time, it is sad that everything is being muddled up this way.” They declared the delegates’ list being used was fake as and not the one that emerged from the congresses.   The complaint of the aspirants came after delegates said to be loyal to Alaibe and other aspirants were allegedly barred from gaining entry to the venue of the primaries.   But another aspirant, Timipre Sylva said he was satisfied with the process as his agent had not complained to him.   Chairman of the primaries, Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who arrived the venue later on, declined comments on the process.   Arguments over the delegates’ list continued into the afternoon, while the police and soldiers stationed in and around the venue had a hectic time keeping off the surging crowd of party faithful and delegates.   From time to time, the security men fired tear-gas into te crowd to disperse and bring them under control.
