Ekiti Elections: PDP Accuses Tinubu of Making Inciting Comments

The Lagos State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, has called on security agencies in the country to interrogate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, one of the founding members of the All Progressives Congress APC, for making what it terms as “inflammatory” and “inciting” remarks.   Tinubu had on April 23 at his investiture as the Chancellor, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, said, “anyone who attempt to rig the upcoming elections in Ekiti and Osun states would be roasted.”

In a statement signed by Taofik Gani, the Lagos State PDP publicity secretary, said the statement could add to the worsening security challenges the country is currently facing. He said the statement was criminal and there was need to get the APC leader to explain details of his utterances.   In the statement, Gani said, “We are indeed worried that such inflammatory, inciting and criminal pronouncement can be made in our country at this period that we are confronted with security problems.”   “The statement must not be treated with kid gloves as it may ignite conflagration in the South-West region.”
