To prevent the rush that usually characterizes the period of Sallah celebration across the country, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has urged Nigerians, especially air travelers, to prepare early for their journey ahead of the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr.
Yakubu Dati, general manager, Corporate Communications, FAAN, noted in a statement released earlier today that increased movement of passengers travelling locally for the holidays coupled with those coming into the country for the same purpose usually constitutes huge volume of passenger traffic in airports all over the country.
In a similar vein, FAAN advised travelers to leave home early to ensure timely completion of all pre-boarding processes to avoid missing their flights. This, FAAN believes, is necessary considering heavy traffic that might likely occur on access roads close to the airport terminals.
The Airport authority also admonished vehicle owners to use designated car parks when visiting the airports to minimize traffic on access roads and ensure safety of lives and properties adding that vehicles parked indiscriminately will be towed and their owners levied with fines accordingly.
