The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has revoked all contracts awarded by the commission before December 31, 2019, for which contractors have not mobilised on site.
A statement issued on Sunday by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Ibitoye Abosede, said consequently all monies paid to contractors that had not mobilised on site for those contracts should be refunded by the contractors.
Abosede said the cancellation of the contracts was part of the implementation of the NDDC Forensic audit report, which was approved recently by the Presidency.
He said the affected contracts may be re-awarded in future but such re-award would be according to the provisions of the Public Procurement Act.
The statement did not however give the number of the affected contracts or their value.
