Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwoland, has on Thursday, May 18, said the Federal College of Education, Iwo, will be upgraded to University of Education soon.

Akanbi described the college as the pride of Iwoland, assuring the management of necessary support to ensure the institution becomes best among equal.

He made the assurance on Thursday while giving his Royal remarks at the first matriculation ceremony of the Federal College of Education, Iwo, Osun State.

He expressed optimism that the institution will be upgraded to a full University of Education in no distant time, thus calling on all stakeholders, including the government, for encouragement.

Oluwo equally appreciated the Federal Government for situating the institution in Iwo, saying the wound of marginalizing Iwo has been healed by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.

Hear the monarch: “My sincere appreciation to the Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari.” He added that
“We have been given the institution support and we will continue to. Our dream is to ensure the Federal College is upgraded to Federal University of Education, Iwo. We are optimistic this will be achieved in no distant time”

Oba Akanbi enjoined matriculating students to be dedicated to their studies, urging them to accept today’s pressure for tomorrow’s pleasure.
