President Goodluck Jonathan today swore-in Osita Chidoka, immediate past Corp Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, as the new minister of aviation.
The president also swore in Abubakar Suleiman, a former lecturer at the University of Abuja, as the Minister of National Planning who will also serve as deputy chairman of the National Planning Commission.
Also, the President appointed Boboye Oyeyemi to replace Chidoka as the FRSC head.
Addressing the new office holders, the president told them that Nigerians are expecting so much from them and urged them to utilise their wealth of experience in performing their new assignments.
The President noted that it was the first time an in-house person was appointed into the new position of the Corp Marshal, and urged Oyeyemi to work with his colleagues to improve on the foundation Chidoka had already laid.
Chidoka takes over from Stella Oduah, who was ejected from office in February after severe public condemnation and indictment by a presidential panel over the N255m scandal, which she allegedly used to purchase two bulletproof cars.
