The abducted former Accountant-General of Bauchi State, Bappa Tilde, has been killed by his yet-to-be-identified kidnappers.
Tilde, 72, was abducted last Saturday, at Nuru Quarters in Bauchi, on his way home from the mosque, where he observed his night prayers.
News of his death was confirmed by both security and family sources to journalists, on Thursday, in Bauchi.
The late Tilde was buried on Thursday morning, following funeral prayers held at the palace of the Emir of Bauchi. The prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Bauchi, Alhaji Bala Babainna Ahmed.
The deceased, according to the North-East zonal publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Sani Al’amin Mohammed, was survived by three wives, 27 children and over 100 grandchildren.
