Recently, the world observed a day as World City Day. It was a day meant for people to do whatever they could to maintain a good and clean city. The event was also observed in the FCT.
In an attempt to achieve its mandate in giving a good city to the people the Department of Land Administration of the FCTA under Malam Adamu Jibrin has been doing its best and has engaged in one activity or the other over the years.
After Jibrin assumed office, he had put into place people-oriented policies and programmes, which his team has been implementing one after the other. He also introduced various reforms and revitalization exercise, which has now turned the department into an efficient one rendering the type of services expected from it by both the FCTA management and the public.
This is the reason why the department has been doing very well since then and it has measured up to the expectation of the public especially those involved in land matters. It is often believed that two or three years is not enough to usually gauge one’s performance but for jibrin, public started seeing the difference not long after he assumed office. Indeed, it could be said that the department has achieved a lot with the support and encouragement he is receiving from the FCTA.
Aware that public expectation is high because of the sensitiveness of land issues, Jibrin and his team had long ago introduced clear cut policies and implementation strategies. Both his department and AGIS have accorded priority attention to the issue of double allocations and all other shady issues. The two departments have been dealing effectively with sensitive land issues to the admiration of both the government and the public.
I wish to commend the efforts of Malam Jibrin and his team of officials for turning the fortunes of the department which is now regarded as an efficient service delivery agent of the government. The director and the officials should therefore add more grease to their elbow for a continuous efficient service for land administration in the FCT.
