Lagos Government Warns Against Fake Ebola Test Kit

The Lagos State Government, LASG, on Wednesday warned Lagos residents and other citizens in the country not to fall victims of suspected fraudsters who peddle a fake Ebola test kit.

The government, in a statement issued by Hakeem Bello, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, explained that the product, which was called Rapid Response Canada, was nothing but a hoax to rip-off unsuspecting Nigerians.

Bello stated that the technique for the manufacture of such kit does not exist. He urged members of the public not to patronize sellers of such dubious products.

“The fake items, which are branded as Rapid Response Canada with test results purportedly available in 10 minutes is a hoax.

“There are no Ebola test kits manufactured anywhere in the world and the technique for its manufacture does not exist yet,” Bello said.
