The resident electoral commissioner, REC, Lagos State, Mr. Orebiyi, has announced that the commission will hold elections in Kosofe, Alimosho, Shomolu, Eti-Osa and Oshodi/Isolo local government area of the state tomorrow, Sunday March 29, 2015. This is because the exercise could not be conducted in some polling units in the those LGAs on Saturday, March 28. The problems include late arrival of election materials and failure of the novel card readers procured for the verification of voters.
Mr. Orebiyi however did not give details of the number of polling units and location involved. He told media that details will be given before the commencement of the exercise tomorrow. That is understandable because, while he addressing the press, voting was still ongoing in some of the affected local government areas. In some other places, voters went home disappointed. Some of such voters will be glad that the commission has given them that opportunity.
