The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has launched the Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL) National Awareness Campaign in Kano and Bauchi states, as part of its nationwide drive to expand digital skills, deepen public understanding of ICT-driven opportunities, and promote an inclusive digital economy.

The campaign aligns with NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0), with particular focus on fostering digital literacy and talent development, expanding inclusive access to digital infrastructure and services, strengthening strategic partnerships, and building digital trust across Nigeria.

In Kano State, the awareness rally kicked off at the Zoo Road takeoff point, moved through Tarauni Market, and culminated at the Farm Center GSM Market, drawing widespread attention from traders, shoppers, and residents.

Similarly, the Bauchi State rally commenced at Pali Suite in the New GRA, proceeded through Government House Street, the Emir’s Palace, Wunti Market, Muda Lawal Market, GSM Village, and Central Market, before ending at Kano Road.

During the rallies, participants carried banners, interacted directly with vendors and shoppers, and showcased how mobile applications and digital tools can enhance everyday life and boost business operations, particularly for small-scale traders and entrepreneurs.

The campaign recorded lively participation from NYSC corps members, creative influencers, entertainers, and market communities, blending public awareness with hands-on engagement to make digital literacy more relatable and accessible to everyday Nigerians.

NITDA said the DL4ALL campaign is a critical component of Nigeria’s push to achieve 70 per cent digital literacy by 2027, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to building a digitally empowered, innovative, and inclusive nation, leveraging partnerships with Nigeria’s creative industry to reach wider audiences across the country.

The nationwide outreach is expected to continue in other states as NITDA intensifies efforts to equip Nigerians with essential digital skills for participation in the modern economy.
