The number of deaths resulting from a yet-to-be identified disease that broke out in Irele
local government area of Ondo State has now increased to 35.
Residents of the community are now speculating that the disease could be a spiritual attack as victims die within few minutes or hours of showing symptoms.
The symptoms of the bizarre disease are sudden blindness and severe headache.
Meanwhile, Dayo Adeyanju, Ondo State Commissioner for Health said the World Health Organisation, WHO has sent officials to unravel the actual cause and nature of the disease.
The state government is currently engaged in activities aimed at determining what this ailment could be as well as its cause.
