The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, the Ajimoko 111 has felicitated with the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade on the latter’s ascension to the throne of his forefathers. While reminding the Alaafin of their common heritage, particularly the bond between their forebears who, he said, “succeeded in sustaining this great legacy of kinship, brotherliness and brotherhood”, the Adimula prayed that the reign of Alaafin Owoade will “herald a new lease of peace, happiness and prosperity in the entire Yorubaland.”

He said he could not attend the coronation of the Alaafin because he was “currently observing mandatory seclusion”.

Alaafin Owoade was crowned on April 5, 2025, as the 46th monarch of the ancient Yoruba city, following the demise of his predecessor, Alaafin Lamidi Adeyemi, who joined his ancestors in 2022.
