APC chieftain Olatunbosun Oyintiloye applauds President Tinubu, Governor Makinde, and security forces for the successful rescue of abducted Oyo pupils and teachers, urging stronger intelligence, victim rehabilitation, and intensified efforts to free Nigerians still in captivity.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has said the successful rescue of abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State has renewed hope for a safer Nigeria and strengthened public confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s security agenda.
Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, the former lawmaker described the rescue operation as a major breakthrough in the fight against insecurity, saying it demonstrated the ability of Nigerian security forces to confront terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping.
Oyintiloye commended President Bola Tinubu, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, the Nigerian Army, and other security agencies for their coordinated efforts that resulted in the safe release of the victims after weeks in captivity.
According to him, the operation has not only brought relief to the affected families but has also renewed optimism that Nigeria can overcome its growing security challenges.
“The successful rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State has rekindled hope for a safer Nigeria,” he said.
He praised the courage and resilience shown by the rescued pupils and teachers throughout their ordeal, describing the operation as clear evidence that Nigeria possesses the capacity to defeat criminal elements threatening peace and stability.
The APC stalwart noted that improved security remains essential to attracting investments, boosting economic activities, and restoring public confidence across the country.
While celebrating the successful operation, Oyintiloye urged governments at all levels to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture through better intelligence gathering, enhanced collaboration among security agencies, and proactive measures against emerging threats.
He stressed that sustainable economic growth and national development depend largely on a secure environment.
“A robust security system is critical to economic recovery and sustainable national development,” he said.
Oyintiloye also appealed to both the Federal Government and the Oyo State Government to provide comprehensive rehabilitation programmes, psychological support, and relief materials for the rescued victims and their families to help them recover from the traumatic experience.
He extended condolences to families who lost loved ones during the incident and commended members of the military who paid the ultimate price during the rescue mission.
“Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families of those who lost their loved ones. May their souls rest in peace,” he added.
The former lawmaker further called on the military and other security agencies to sustain the momentum by intensifying efforts to rescue other Nigerians still being held captive in Borno State and other parts of the country.
Oyintiloye also emphasised the need to dismantle the financial and logistical networks supporting criminal groups, insisting that targeting sponsors and suppliers of weapons, vehicles, illicit drugs, and other resources would significantly weaken insurgent and bandit operations.
He added that greater international cooperation would be vital in disrupting these criminal supply chains.
Calling on citizens to support security agencies, Oyintiloye urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and provide credible intelligence capable of preventing future attacks.
“Security is a collective responsibility. If you see something, say something. With this successful rescue, there is renewed hope for Nigeria in the fight against insecurity,” he said.
The rescue of the abducted Oyo pupils and teachers is being widely viewed as a significant boost to the Tinubu administration’s ongoing efforts to improve national security, with many Nigerians hoping it marks a turning point in the country’s battle against kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes.
