The Rivers State Police Command has launched an investigation into the kidnap of Golden Chioma, Chairman, Rivers State House of Assembly Committee on Judiciary.
Muhammad Ahmad, spokesman for the Police Command said on Wednesday that, “Our detectives from anti-kidnap unit and State Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, are on top of the incident to ensure that the legislator is freed unharmed.”
Chioma is an All Progressives Congress, APC member representing Etche Constituency in the Rivera State House of Assembly.
The lawmaker was kidnapped in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt on Tuesday, July 8.
