Scores of people were said to have died on Friday at the premises of Synagogue Church, Ikotun, Lagos where a 5-storey building belonging to the church collapsed, injuring many others.

Although actual number of casualties could not be obtained as at the time of filing this report, there are fears that no fewer than 15 people were killed in the building collapse even as rescue operation was still ongoing.

Friday Adeboayo, Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA, who confirmed the incidence said more than 15 dead bodies have been recovered from the scene.

It is believed that foreign visitors who had come in search of spiritual solutions at the church mostly occupied the building.
