Aminu Tambuwal, Speaker of the House of Representatives, all elected state governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC and Muhammed Buhari, former head of state afe today absent at the Council of states meeting currently holding at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Reports from the State House, Abuja said the absentees did not even send representatives in their capacity to attend the meeting majorly scheduled to discuss the worrying security situation in the country.
Although it was not certain if any of them would later send representation to the meeting, their action may not be unconnected with the recent crisis brewing between the APC and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the defection of Tambuwal from the PDP to the APC.
But it was observed that Ernest Shonekan, former Head of Interim Government; former Presidents Sheu Shagari, Olusegun Obasanjo and Yakubu Gowon, former Head of State among others were present at the meeting which began at 11:30 am on Tuesday.
