The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has kicked off final preparations for its highly anticipated #Ibadan2025 National Convention, scheduled to take place on November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
In an update shared via the party’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, @OfficialPDPNig, it was revealed that Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, who chairs the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC), led a high-powered delegation to inspect major facilities in Ibadan.
The team toured key venues including the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, bus terminals, and other strategic locations earmarked for the convention. The inspection, according to party sources, was aimed at assessing the level of preparedness and ensuring that all logistics are in place for the smooth hosting of the two-day national event.
Governor Fintiri was accompanied by top members of the NCOC and senior PDP officials, who expressed satisfaction with the level of ongoing preparations. The visit also served as an opportunity to liaise with the Oyo State Government, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, to fine-tune arrangements for accommodation, transportation, and security of delegates.
The #Ibadan2025 PDP National Convention is expected to draw thousands of party faithful, delegates, and political heavyweights from across Nigeria. It is seen as a defining moment for the opposition party as it prepares to reposition itself ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Political analysts say the choice of Ibadan—Nigeria’s largest city by landmass and a traditional political hub—underscores the PDP’s determination to reconnect with its grassroots base and showcase unity ahead of the next political cycle.
The upcoming convention is also expected to feature key resolutions on internal party reforms, leadership consolidation, and renewed strategies for national recovery.
