The
test-run of the first phase of the Lagos-Abeokuta railtrack which is
currently being modernised was on Friday carried out amidst fanfare.
The
test-run which began from Iju station in Lagos and terminated at
Abeokuta in Ogun State, had the minister of transportation, Rotimi
Ameachi; Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun and the deputy
commissioner in charge of railway, Taiwo Jesubiyi on board the train.
The modernisation project will help to reduce the rate of traffic and also make movement easier between Lagos and Ogun State.
People from Abeokuta can get to Lagos wit and return to their home without the struggle of traffic.
