The Ondo State Security Network, widely known as Amotekun Corps, has successfully rescued four kidnapped victims after a fierce exchange of gunfire with armed bandits inside a remote forest in the state.
According to reports, the security operatives acted on intelligence after the victims were abducted and taken into the bush by suspected kidnappers operating along forest routes. Amotekun operatives reportedly launched a tactical offensive, engaging the bandits in a gun duel that forced the criminals to abandon the victims and flee deeper into the forest.
The victims were rescued unharmed and taken into safety for medical evaluation.
Authorities say the operation is part of ongoing crackdowns on forest-based criminal syndicates terrorising rural communities and major highways in Ondo State. Commanders within the Amotekun Corps reaffirmed that the agency remains committed to flushing out criminal elements from the state, warning that kidnappers will face intensified resistance.
Residents have applauded the swift response and bravery of the operatives, while security officials assured that patrols and combing operations continue in affected areas to apprehend fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks.
