APC Contests Kashamu’s election to the Senate in Ogun

The Ogun East senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC, Dapo Abiodun, has dragged Buruji Kashamu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP before the election tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, urging the court to declare that Kashamu did not win the election.
Abiodun, through his counsel, Yusuf Ali, SAN, is contending in his petition, that the March 28, 2015 National Assembly poll that produced Kashamu was rigged.
He further alleged that the PDP senatorial candidate induced voters with cash even before the voting started, adding that during collation of results, there were clear indications of manipulations in some areas.
He is also arguing that the number of votes recorded in some polling units exceeded the number of accredited voters there. Those are not the only things Abiodun is bringing before the tribunal. The APC candidate also says that the election results on Forms EC8A, EC8B and EC8Cs did not correspond in many polling units identified in four local governments viz: Ijebu North, Sagamu, Remo North and Ikenne.
What is even more intriguing, according to the politician is that election did not take place in wards 5 and 7 in Sagamu and another ward in Ogun Waterside Local governments, as voters who turned out to cast their votes did not present their Permanent Voter’s Cards, PVC.
