The secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has called on all Nigerians to embrace the proposed National dialogue as a means of resolving critical national issues facing the country. Anyim made the call today at the launch and review of a book titled, “Conversations with my Country,” a five-year compilation of the opinion write-ups of Funke Egbemode a journalist with The Sun newspaper.

Senator Anyim who wrote the forward to the book and was also the chairman of the event, says the theme of the book was one that should capture the interest of every Nigerian as it touched on issues that affects the country. He added that the best way to approach and solve these issues is through a national dialogue.

Anyim said the importance of dialogue cannot be over emphasized not only for a country as diverse as Nigeria but also for individuals adding that the coming National dialogue is an avenue for the nation to iron out fundamental issues through its representatives.

The SGF also called on the media to effectively key into the efforts being made to move the nation forward while adding that, “constructive criticism is welcome from all and sundry but in particular from the media and if there is to be development, sacrifices must be made by every Nigerian through a common commitment in our little corners.”
