… Six Feared Killed.

Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika has confirmed the crash of an Air Force plane, King Air 350 near Nnamdi Azikwe international Airport, Abuja. The military plane, with six persons on board, crashed about 15 minutes after takeoff from the Abuja Airport.

The six persons, which included two crew members, are presumed dead. Their identities are yet to be disclosed.

The scene of the crash which was short of the runway, had been besieged by sympathisers who watched as the ill-fated plane and its passengers continued to burn.

Credible information revealed that the plane had been depliyed by security and intelligence agencies to combat insurgency in the Northeast.

Confirming the crash in a tweet, Sirika wrote: “A military aircraft King Air 350 has just crashed short of our Abuja runway after reporting engine failure en route Minna. It appears to be fatal. We should remain calm & wait for the outcome of the investigation by the military, while we pray for the departed soul/souls if any”.
