Edo State Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa has warned politicians agonising over the harmonious relationship between him and his boss, Governor Monday Okpebholo to back off, stating unequivocally that they remained united and as such any attempt to cause a rift between them was bound to fail.
Idahosa, a former member of the House of Representatives, in a personally signed statement on Friday posited that any attempt to weaken the relationship between him and the governor “is dead on arrival.”
He therefore urged those he labelled detractors to refocus their energy on matters that would add value to the governor’s SHINE Agenda. Reacting to perceived online smear campaign against the government, Idahosa vowed to stand by his principal, the personality of the governor and other top government functionaries.
He said some politicians were pained by the practical governance being demonstrated by the Okpebholo administration.
Idahosa’s statement reads in part: “It has come to my attention that certain individuals, unsettled by the unity between my boss, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and myself, have resorted to sponsoring false narratives online in a desperate attempt to sow seed of discord.
“Let it be clearly stated that their efforts will amount to nothing. As long as my boss, my senior brother, and I remain united, every of such plan is bound to fail.
“I, Dennis Osagbemwenrue Idahosa, stand solidly behind my boss like the Rock of Gibraltar. I stand where he stands, and I sit where he sits.
“Any attempt to divide us or weaken our team is dead on arrival. They are simply wasting their time”.
