Julius Ihonvbere, Secretary to the Edo State Government has resigned his appointment.
Ihonvbere tendered his resignation after he lost out in the primaries of the All Progressive Congress, APC where he contested for the Edo North senatorial seat.
Ihonvbere who hails from Owan lost to Francis Alimekhena, a candidate from Estako.
Sources close to Ihonvbere reportedly said he resigned because he felt Adams Oshiomhole, the state Governor connived with the Estako tribe to humiliate him.
Peter Okhiria, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Oshiomhole, in a statement released on behalf of the state government said the Governor has accepted Ihonvbere’s resignation.
He added that the Governor thanked the erstwhile SSG for his services to the state and wished him well in his future endeavours.
