The Delta State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with the ongoing investigation into the deaths of Mene Ogidi and Usman Nuhu Ogbegbe, while efforts continue to apprehend another suspect identified as Desmond, who remains on the run.

According to information obtained from investigators, police have traced the movement of a Beretta pistol allegedly linked to the case through a chain of transactions involving multiple individuals.

Preliminary findings indicate that the firearm was allegedly purchased by Emmanuel Chukwuemeka for ₦290,000 from a suspect identified as Amadi Princewill. Investigators further allege that Princewill had earlier acquired the weapon from Amadi Felix for ₦200,000 before reselling it.

Police sources claim that Emmanuel later sold the pistol to Desmond, allegedly making a profit of ₦90,000 on the transaction.

Authorities say five individuals have so far been linked to the investigation. However, only four suspects — Amadi Felix, Amadi Princewill, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, and Clifford — have been taken into custody.

Investigators allege that Clifford, who reportedly shares accommodation with Emmanuel, became implicated after Emmanuel allegedly used Clifford’s mobile phone to communicate with individuals involved in the purchase and sale of the firearm. As a result, both men were arrested as police work to establish the extent of their involvement.

Meanwhile, Desmond, described by investigators as a key figure in the case, has not yet been apprehended. Police are continuing efforts to track him down and determine his alleged role in the movement of the firearm and other aspects of the investigation.

The case has attracted significant public attention as investigators work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Mene Ogidi and Usman Nuhu Ogbegbe.

Law enforcement authorities have not yet released a comprehensive statement detailing the charges the suspects may face, and investigations remain ongoing.

Police have urged members of the public with relevant information to come forward and assist security agencies in locating the remaining suspect and advancing the investigation.
