Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti State, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, over the alleged murder of one Modupe Olaya during a protest plot to prevent the 19 All Progressives Congress law makers in the state House of Assembly from impeaching the governor.
Olaya was said to have been allegedly killed on Tuesday, April 6, 2015, when policemen escorting the lawmakers from Osun State ran into the barricade mounted at Ita Ure in Efon Local Government by those protesting against the attempt to remove the governor from office.
Meanwhile, the leader of the anti-Fayose law makers and the embattled Speaker of the Assembly, Adewale Omirin, has since refuted the allegation, saying his security escort never fired any shot against the protesters, but only turned back when soldiers prevented them from entering the state.
