The popular Balogun market on Lagos Island was razed by fire in the early hours of Monday, January 12.
The fire started at about 4:00 a.m. but what triggered the fire is still unknown.
Six buildings housing hundreds of shops and warehouses where materials like clothes, shoes, electronics and others are being sold were reduced to ashes by the inferno. A Diamond bank building was also affected by the fire.
