Rochas Okorocha, Imo State governor today launched the first phase of a digitalised electronic library and resource management system in the state.
While speaking during the launch held at the new Imo Library Complex in Owerri, the state capital, Okorocha explained that the state government adopted the project in recognition of the importance of e-learning to education and research development.
He expressed belief that the 100-seater building would promote qualitative education and research development and assured that such project would be replicated in all the institutions of learning in the state.
The governor urged the people in Imo State to make good use of the library facilities, and charged the library workers to dutifully attend to users.
Ngozi Amadi, Director of Imo Library Board who commended the governor for implementing the electronic library project promised that the library workers would continue to carry out their duties diligently.
