Idris Wada, the executive governor of Kogi State, has dissolved the State Executive Council, relieving all the 16 commissioners in the state of their posts.
Wada announced the dissolution of the state cabinet at the end of the weekly meeting of the State Executive Council (EXCO) held in Lokoja today.
The governor expressed gratitude to the 16 commissioners for their service to the state since their appointment in 2012 and admonished them to be prepared for any services that may be sought from them in the near future.
On the orders of the governor, the dissolution is to take immediate effect and directives were given to all the commissioners to hand over necessary documents and responsibilities to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministries.
