The usual traffic bottleneck on the Lagos-Ibadan Exp-way, particularly at the Lagos end of the road was compounded Wednesday morning. The reason for the problem was a gas leakage around the Punch newspaper office. Workers with Julius Berger, the road construction giant are said to have inadvertently broken a gas pipeline while working on the road.
An alliance between the company and residents of the area is in top gear to ensure that motorists and residents are not thrown into crisis. It has been said that experts have been called upon to handle the situation so it would not end in conflagration.
A notice also implored motorists to exercise patience, as the issue will be resolved soon.
