Nigerian music star Asake delivered a show-stopping performance as AfroFuture Ghana 2025 officially opened on December 28 at El-Wak Stadium in Accra, electrifying fans and setting a high bar for the rest of the festival.

Headlining Day 1 of the highly anticipated event, Asake shared the stage with standout acts including Moliy, TXC, King Paluta, and Mavo, as thousands of music lovers turned out amid the peak of West Africa’s Detty December festivities.

The buzz around Asake’s appearance began hours before showtime, with fans circulating viral clips of his fashion-forward airport arrival, signaling the arrival of a superstar ready to dominate the night. Once on stage, the YBNL hitmaker unleashed a high-energy set that kept the crowd on its feet, performing fan favorites such as “Dull,” “Why Love,” and a string of chart-topping anthems.

A major highlight of the night came when Asake teamed up with Ghanaian star King Promise for a live collaboration, drawing massive cheers and underscoring the growing cross-border synergy within Afrobeats. Many attendees and online commentators noted that the performance marked a significant evolution from Asake’s 2022 AfroFuture appearance, praising his improved stage presence, live delivery, and crowd control.

Social media reactions quickly crowned the performance “iconic,” while Nigerian music heavyweight Olamide also applauded the electric atmosphere and the festival’s vibrant energy.

With an explosive opening night now in the books, attention shifts to Day 2, headlined by Rema, as AfroFuture Ghana 2025 continues to cement its status as one of Africa’s premier end-of-year music festivals.
