Odetoyinbo Inaugurated Bishop of Abeokuta Diocese

Peter Kayode Odetoyinbo has been installed as theBishop of Abeokuta Diocese.

He was inaugurated yesterdayby a delegation of Pope Francis including members of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, CCN.

Odetoyinbo was appointed to the seat of Bishop in April 2014 from his Ibadan diocese following the appointment of Alfred Martins Adewale, former Bishop of the Abeokuta Catholic Diocese as the Archbishop of Lagos about 2years ago.

Ordained a Catholic Priest in 1989, Odetoyinbo was until his appointmenta Monsignor, a rank next to a Bishop in the Ibadan diocese.

Among those who were present at the consecration ceremony are Olubunmi Okojie, Bishop emeritus of Lagos diocese;Mathew Kuka of Sokoto;Alaba Felix Job bishop emeritus of Oyo Diocese andGabriel Dunia, bishop of Auchi Diocese among others.

In his homily, Felix Femi Ajakaye, Bishop of Ekiti Diocese urged the Bishop to be focused and be a Shepherd to the people of the state irrespective of their religious, political and ethnic affiliations.
