Okpebholo Felicitates Oba Ewuare 11 on Igue, Promises Partnership for Better Edo

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has assured that his administration shall continue to design programmes and policies that would uphold the development of the Benin heritage as a global phenomenon and a great asset to the state for the good of all.
In a personally signed statement on Monday to felicitate the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, on the annual Igue, the most popular festival in Benin Kingdom, Governor Okpebholo said the government was ready to partner with the Oba for a better Edo State.
The statement read:
“On behalf of Edo State Government, I extend my heartfelt felicitations to His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, the Oba of Benin, and the entire Edo people on the occasion of the annual Igue festival. Traditionally, this is a period of thanksgiving to Almighty God for peace and development in Benin Kingdom.

“Despite the numerous challenges, Benin Kingdom and indeed Edo State, have made remarkable progress. We thank God and pray for the sustenance of the great blessings which the Royal Majesty has helped to strengthen.
“As a government, we are ready to partner with His Royal Majesty for a better Edo State. The Benin heritage is a global phenomenon and a great asset to our beloved state.
We shall continue to design programmes and policies that will uphold the development of this heritage for the good of all.
“As we celebrate this year’s Igue Festival, I pray for the peace, progress, and prosperity for all Edo people. May God Almighty continue to increase the wisdom and total blessings of our respected Oba of Benin.
