A serious gas leak has been reported on a gas pipeline operated by the NLNG/AGIP at Elibrada in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Locals said the leakage began after an explosion was heard. But there has been no fire from the leak, which was shooting onto the air before officials of NLNG arrived the site to try to seal the leak.

The pipeline was on contract to a pipeline laying company, Saipem Nigeria Limited.
