A Peep into Lagos Ebola Camp

It is one place that has recently generated almost an equal mix of interest and controversy. Many are interested in knowing what the isolation treatment center set up for patients who have tested positive to the Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, at the Infectious Disease Hospital, IDH, Yaba, looks like.

Others, who say they already know, insist that the center is lacking in basic hygiene facilities necessary for the treatment of Ebola patients. But the view of the Lagos State government, the Federal Ministry of Health, World Health Organisation and other partners involved in setting up the center appears to be quite different.

TELL visited the center and these are some of the images showing a section of the hospital, hurriedly converted into an isolation centre, while the state government then embarked on the construction of a 95-bed facility fully equipped with chlorinated water, beddings, functional pharmacy and even a spill over section prepared for any eventualities.
