The Lagos Operations Division of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, recently held a merit award and reception for Ladan Salihu, the Director General of the FRCN.
The event was graced by dignitaries in the media industry, management staff of the FRCN Zonal Stations, Board members as well as a galaxy of staff members who turned out en-mass for the evening celebrations in honour of the DG and Staff Merit Awards.
In all, twelve awards were presented for the Producer, Presenter, Editor, Reporter, Engineer, Technologist, Marketer, Administrator, and Accountant of the year as well as the Director Lagos Operations, DLO, special awards.
Speaking at the event, Salihu expressed gratitude for the reception and commended the organisers of the awards. He said that the Lagos Operations was the flagship of the Operational service of the FRCN and congratulated the staff for living above expectations and showing that they are dependable and productive.
Garuba Kankarfi, the Registrar, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, who chaired the occasion, described broadcasting as a whole profession to be considered while presenting one of the awards.
Two of the awardees, Omolara Omosanya, who won the Reporter of the year and her counterpart in the Engineering unit, Adeogun Ebenezer expressed their gratitude for the recognition.
