Sanusi May Return As Emir of Kano
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has been reinstated as the Emir of Kano. The announcement was made by Governor Abba Yusuf after signing into law the bill sent to him earlier in the day by the state House of Assembly. He said, “With the full support of the kingmakers, I have approved the reappointment of Malam Sanusi Lamido.” The new law, the Kano State Emirate Council Law (Repeal Bill) 2024, repealed the one signed into law by the former governor Abdullahi Ganduje, who is currently the national chairman of the All-Progressives Congress, APC.

While the lawmakers were perfecting the new law and transmitting the same to the governor, Sanusi was in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers State as a resource person at the State Economic Summit.
