Two people died after being struck by thunder on Sunday at Shimawa, in Shagamu local government area of Ogun State. The incident happened at a football pitch in Kanuyi area of Shimawa.
Initially, twelve people were struck by the thunder, but some Sango worshippers who were reportedly called to the scene revived 10 of the victims. Unfortunately, the two fatalities had died even before the Sango worshippers arrived at the venue of the incident.
Since around 4:30 pm, when the incident happened, there had been an upsurge of visitors to Kanuyi.
