This week’s edition is with the cover story that looks into the tokenism contained in the austerity measures announced by the federal government to tackle the looming economic crisis, occasioned by the dwindling prices of crude oil, the sole plank on which the economy is built. It is titled Austerity: Too Little, Too Late.
Just as we were working on the cover story last week, the political class staged a drama in Abuja, with the Nigeria Police taking the centre stage. That is the crux of the editorial, Tambuwal: The Police Faux Pas.
And talking about the political class, the mini-drama in Ekiti State also continued last week with the impeachment of leaders of the state House of Assembly by seven of the 26 members, that is even not up to one-third! The story is titled Fayose’s Whirlwind in Ekiti.
Do have a blessed week!
