The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Sokoto State has called on politicians to abide by the rules and regulations of the electoral process to achieve hitch-free elections in 2015.
Muhammad Musa, Head of Voter Education and Publicity, in a statement noted that free and fair election was a collective responsibility of all Nigerians. “As such, each and every stakeholder must contribute his or her own quota in order to achieve the desired objective,” the statement said
He also observed that the release of the Notification for the 2015 general elections was in accordance with the provisions of section 30, sub-sections 1 and 2 of the Electoral Act.
“The notice of the 2015 general elections has been released and pasted at the state headquarters of the commission in Sokoto. Same had also been done at the headquarters of each of the 23 local governments of the state,” the statement, added.
