Jimi Agbaje, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Lagos State has congratulated his rival, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress, APC for his victory in the governorship election held on Saturday March 9.
The PDP candidate in doing that follows the example of former president Goodluck Jonathan who also congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari before the final results were announced in 2015.
Agbaje and Sanwo-Olu ran a competitive campaign ahead of the election, raising concern that either the opposition candidate takes the victory or the winner runs away win a slim margin.
But from the results announced in all the local government areas the APC candidate won 739,445 against PDP’s 206,141.
